Individual Therapy

What is Therapy?

Therapy is a collaborative process of working with a trained mental health professional to discuss what is going on in your life, how it’s affecting you, and if there may be better pathways for yourself. Therapy is meant to be a safe space to discuss whatever may be relevant to your life.

Who Can Benefit from Therapy?

Therapy can help with a wide range of issues, including but not limited to:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression and low mood

  • Relationship and interpersonal difficulties

  • Workplace stress

  • Major life transitions (e.g. relationship break ups, loss, career changes)

  • Cultural issues

  • Other mental health concerns or conditions

Therapy is here to discuss these issues in your life, whether they are recent or long-standing.

What Does Therapy Look Like at Daniel CTS?

Daniel is a registered counsellor and psychotherapist who serves clients in the Greater Sydney area. He uses a person-centered foundation that strives to help clients feel heard, understood, and empowered. This may lead to clients better understanding themselves & making the changes they wish to see in their lives. He also employs other therapeutic modalities to fit the unique needs of each client. These may include:

  • Cognitive-behavioural therapy (working with one’s thoughts and behaviours)

  • Psychodynamic therapy (considering the past & relationships)

  • Mindfulness practices (staying in the present moment and tuning into one’s mind & body).

To help clients assess if they may be a good fit to work with me, I offer a free 20-minute phone consultation. This provides an opportunity for you to share your concerns and assess whether we may be a good fit to work together. If you do book a session, the initial sessions will focus on getting to know you, your presenting concerns, and your goals for therapy. In later sessions, I may guide us to deepen our understanding of the challenges you face & explore ways to move forward. Throughout our work together, I welcome any feedback you may have about aspects that are helpful or unehlpful, in order for therapy to be the most beneficial to you.
