Free Mental Health Resources in Australia

If you are in Australia and looking to better understand / improve your mental health, there are a number of free “first-stop” resources available for a diverse range of issues and peoples. Below is a list of common resources, many of which offer shorter-term, anonymous support.

Please note that they are not designed to be a replacement for regular therapy or psychological care.

  • Beyond Blue: General mental health concerns like anxiety and depression, phone line and text-based services are available

  • SANE: Complex mental health concerns such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and more

  • Relationships Australia: Relationship support

  • Butterfly Foundation: Eating disorders, phone and text-based services are available
